The current developments regarding the Corona Pandemic have already let to many
postponements and cancellations of actuarial events all over the world. As former hosts
of the ICA 2018, we can surely understand how this must feel. Our hearts are with the
colleagues having to take such tough decisions in these days. We are hoping very much
for a soon end to this crisis so that we all can meet at conferences safely again. At the
same time, it is good that modern online formats offer various opportunities as
alternatives to physical meetings. At the moment, we are working with some of our
partners on upcoming online events presenting the programs of cancelled events. So stay
tuned for more content. And if you are facing a similar situation as a host and are looking
for alternatives, we are of course happy to support you with our knowledge and share our
experience at any time!

Following this initial remark here is our monthly update: In the last few weeks our
community has grown even more – we are very happy to welcome hundreds of new users
to the platform as well as the actuarial association of South Africa. Moreover, a new Ulm
Actuarial Day is now online and we gained content from the Caribbean Actuarial
Association. This month also brings another milestone for actuview: We are celebrating
our first birthday with a special event that will be all about actuaries’ professional
development and careers, and how to get the best skills and job opportunities.
